Overview
We are looking for someone who would be available adhoc to help provide care for my 14 year old son with a brain injury and epilepsy. He is able but does have seizures and needs care for when these happen.
Responsibilities
Cover me when I am unable to be home - my wife will likely be home with our 2 younger children but it gets a bit much with all 3 on her own Administer medication accurately Manage behaviour effectively through behaviour management techniques and case management strategies Assist with light housekeeping duties related to client needs and safety Drive clients safely to appointments or outings as required (travel expenses covered)
Requirements
Proven experience in environments such as nursing homes, hospitals or care homes Certification in First aid is essential Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for helping him up after a seizure Valid driving licence for client transportation duties Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills; able to manage behaviour effectively and provide emotional support Flexibility to work various days, evenings, or weekends as needed
The role is adhoc but can be financially rewarding and flexible for the right candidate.
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Pay: 20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 - 8 per week
Experience:
Home care: 3 years (preferred)
Work Location: In person
