Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addiction Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals struggling with addiction by providing guidance, developing care plans, and facilitating recovery-focused interventions. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to lead clients through their recovery journey while fostering a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct assessments to determine the needs of clients and develop personalised care plans. Provide individual and group counselling sessions to address addiction issues and promote recovery. Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure effective treatment. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes. Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and available resources. Facilitate support groups and workshops to enhance community engagement and support networks. Stay informed about the latest developments in addiction treatment methodologies.

Requirements

Relevant qualifications in counselling, psychology, or social work. Proven experience in addiction counselling or a related field is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds. Leadership capabilities to guide clients through their recovery process effectively. Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual client needs. IT proficiency for maintaining records and utilising counselling software.
