Admin and Business Support Officer - Level B

-------------------------------------------------

Job description
Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

Play an integral role in supporting Adults Social Care to support and empower adults with social care needs to achieve positive outcomes, dignity, independence and quality of life.

Our Admin and Business Support Officers work across Adults Social Care, providing support to help it function effectively. These roles provide a great opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of work, enabling you to further enhance your range of administrative and business support skills and experience. They are also a good platform from which to develop your career in Adult Social Care or the wider council.

We have two full-time permanent roles available, working 8.30 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. (Monday - Thursday) and 8.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. (Friday).

You'll be based at the Town Hall but will be required to attend meetings and provide support at other offices across Leicester.

Both roles will initially be deployed to support the statutory Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards function, with a specific focus on performing detailed and complex administrative processes.

What you'll be doing

As a confident Admin and Business Support Officer you'll ensure the service runs smoothly, resolving and responding efficiently by email and telephone to a range of enquiries. You will carry out a variety of more complex administrative work. Your duties will include minute taking and providing support to meetings; carrying out large-scale mailings; supporting the operation of record keeping systems, including electronic information and legacy paper records; and creating documents and presentations to a high standard.

Paying attention to detail and maintaining confidentiality are critical in this role.

Adults Social Care is a dynamic working environment, so you'll need to work fluidly, flexibly and responsively as a member of the wider service. You'll be line managed by one of our four Admin and Business Support Team Leaders who will provide supervision and offer you support and encouragement to extend your skills, knowledge and experience.

What you'll need

You'll have a broad range of administrative experience including providing support to meetings, and the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform more complex administrative tasks to a high standard with little direction. In addition, you'll have a good understanding of the importance of customer care. Using great verbal and written communication skills, you'll provide excellent customer service when resolving and responding to a variety of enquiries. With strong organisational skills, you'll be able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment with an ability to organise your own workload and adapt to changing priorities. You'll also need the ability to work on a number of tasks/projects concurrently. You'll have proficient IT skills to carry out general administrative tasks, maintain records and databases and produce simple reports with accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.

What we can offer you

As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You'll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working. We'll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including discounts on city buses and trains. For an illustrative value of your benefits package, take a look at our benefits calculator.
