-------------------------------------------------
Job description
Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week/ Permanent
Play an integral role supporting and empowering adults with social care needs to achieve positive outcomes, dignity, independence, and quality of life. We're looking for a reliable, and experienced administrator to join our Administration and Business Support Team.
You'll initially be deployed to provide support to our Adult Mental Health teams, also providing telephone services to the Learning Disabilities teams. This is a full-time, permanent post working 37 hours per week 8.30 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. (Monday - Thursday) and 8.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. (Friday). You'll be office based at Braunstone Health and Social Care Centre, but will also be required to work in our city centre offices and at other offices across Leicester.
What you'll be doing
Your day-to-day activities will include call handling for the social care teams you support, transferring calls and relaying messages from people, carers/family members and a range of professionals. You'll undertake printing and posting of letters and other communications for the service. You'll accurately maintain records/database information and electronic filing systems, pay attention to detail and data protection, as well as raising purchase orders and processing invoices. In addition, you'll provide support for meetings by taking notes/minutes etc.
Working within the Administration and Business Support team you'll be responsible for providing business support to a range of operational services. Adults Social Care is a dynamic working environment, so you'll need to work fluidly, flexibly and responsively as a member of the wider service. You'll be line managed by one of our four Admin & Business Support Team Leaders who will provide supervision and offer you support and encouragement to extend your skills, knowledge and experience.
What you'll need
The ideal candidate will have some experience of administrative/ business support tasks and supporting meetings. In addition, you'll have a good understanding of the importance of customer care.
Using great verbal and written communication skills, you'll provide excellent customer service when resolving and responding to a variety of enquiries liaising with members of the public, internal staff and other health professionals. With strong organisational skills, you'll be able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment; ensuring telephone enquiries are answered in an efficient manner. You'll have the ability to organise your own workload and adapt to changing priorities.
You'll also need the ability to work on a number of tasks/projects concurrently. You'll have proficient IT skills to carry out general administrative tasks, maintain records and databases and produce simple reports to aid service delivery. You'll work with speed, accuracy, and good attention to detail, to deliver a high-quality service.
What we can offer you
As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You'll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working.
We'll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including discounts on city buses and trains and help with relocation to Leicester, where appropriate.
