Streatham Common Practice is looking to recruit a high caliber Administrative Assistant to summarise medical records and process SARS
Priority will be given to those with medical terminology and summarising experience in a general practice/healthcare setting.
Key responsibilities are processing of Subject Access Requests (SARs) and the review of medical records and accurately produce a summary of the patient's medical history.

Streatham Common Practice cares for 12,000+ patients. It is led by three partners who are supported by a full complement of highly skilled and motivated management, administrative and clinical staff.
It has a CQC rating of "Good" in 2019. It is located in newly refurbished premises 10 minutes from Streatham Common Station with direct lines to London terminals, excellent bus links and there is on street parking.
Hours 3-4 days per week (up to 22.5 hours per week) start/finish times can be mutually agreed.
Receipt of request and checking meets guidance for SAR according to GPDR guidelines, including receipt of consent and applicable fees
Creation of SAR using iGPR software
Review of records to redact 3rd party data, plus other sensitive data (e.g. safeguarding) depending on the specifics of the request.
Provision of SAR to requester and recording this within medical and practice records.
Keeping a record of SARs done and reviewing this regularly.
Working with lead GP for medical reports to coordinate SARs process and review queries.
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately
Accurately SNOMED CT code data on the clinical IT system
Review progress of summarising, ensuring practice targets are achieved
Review all clinical letters, ensuring they are processed appropriately in line with extant protocols
File and store records as required
Photocopy documentation as required
Action all incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely manner
Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records
Correctly input data into patients' healthcare records
Securely shred any confidential documents as per practice protocols
A good standard of education, with an expectation of having both GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English
Medical records summarisation experience desirable
