Join our busy team as a Business Support Apprentice learning a range of tasks supporting the Environment and Transport Department.
About the Role
The duties of this exciting role include:

• Be responsible as the Duty Desk Person, managing emails, calls and supporting colleagues in the team with tasks.
• Open, sort and distribute incoming and outgoing post
• General office duties such as photocopying, word processing, data input and using a range of equipment such as plotters, scanners, laminators.
• Be efficient in using Microsoft Office packages, word, excel, outlook and search engines.
• Assist with arranging meetings and taking notes at informal meetings
• Be able to process various documents (eg. Timesheets, invoices, orders and letters ensuring accuracy.
• Resolving routine enquiries.

About You
To apply for this post, you must have:

• A good standard of education including English and Mathematics at GCSE Grade 9 - 4 (or equivalent).
• Good verbal and written communication skills. Including telephone call handling.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work.
• A willingness to be flexible, learn and undertake a variety of different tasks.
• Clerical experience in a range of tasks to include word processing, filing, photocopying, taking and relaying messages, data inputting / maintaining records.
• Using Microsoft Word and Excel including using Microsoft Outlook or another e-mail / internet package.

You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
In addition, we also expect you to share and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
