Admin Assistant
Grade 3 25,185 - 25,989 pro-rata
Part Time - 18.75 hours per week / Term time only
Temporary - required from 6 January 2026 until 31 December 2026
Cassop Primary School & Nursery is looking to appoint a part time temporary Admin Assistant who will have the responsibility to provide intensive and wide ranging support to all members of the team.
The successful candidate should possess:

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work with initiative.
  • Good IT skills.
  • The ability to work in a busy office environment with the skills to
organise, prioritise and deal with multiple tasks whilst meeting
deadlines.
The key duties and responsibilities will include:-
  • Being the first point of contact for the school, welcoming visitors and parents/carers and answering telephone calls.
  • Providing general clerical support and carrying out admin tasks to facilitate the smooth running of the school.
  • Working in a close team to achieve the best for our children and the school community.
It is desirable that the successful candidate will have previous experience of:-
  • Working within a school environment.
  • Using Arbor, Oracle and ParentPay systems.
Essential Qualifications: Either have or expect to achieve 4 GCSE's including English and Maths at Grades 4-9 (A-C) or hold an equivalent and relevant qualification.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post

Standard term time only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
  • Number of 'teaching' weeks - 38 weeks; plus
  • Public (bank) holidays - 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
  • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years' service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years' service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example:
Calculation for employees with less than 5 years' service:
38 weeks (term time) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
Calculation for employees with more than 5 years' service:
38 weeks (term time) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46 weeks' pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
