Job Summary



To work in alongside colleagues in the administration department to provide an efficient and cost-effective administrative support service.

Main Duties And Responsibilities



To process diagnostic assessment reports including typing, finalising and distribution. To process referrals from GP surgeries and make appointments based on these referrals. To keep clinician's diaries and appointments in order as required. To work as an effective member of the a small, busy team, contributing to team meetings to problem solve, improve working process and practices. To be the first point of contact for queries via telephone and email, dealing with difficult/emotive situations sensitively and taking appropriate action. Demonstrate professional and efficient telephone manner including the ability to take accurate and concise telephone messages. To assist with a range of administrative duties including appointment reminders, shredding, and creating physical and electronic client files. To ensure that all required documentation is received prior to an assessment. To complete all mandatory training, for example Safeguarding Children and Adults, working in line with company policies and procedures. To participate in supervision/appraisal with a view to continuing professional development.

Person Specification



Awareness of Equality and Valuing Diversity Principles, confidentiality and data protection. Good working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office Packages and Google Suite. Training will be provided for Axia's bespoke database system. Able to work under pressure and handle conflicting demands in a professional manner, prioritising workload to meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels using both written and verbal communication. Good spelling and grammar essential. Attention to detail especially when working on written documents. Able to work with initiative, both autonomously and as part of a team.

Axia has a vastly experienced Multidisciplinary Team of diagnosticians including Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Teachers and prestigious trainers, authors and researchers in the field of Autism. Axia's team has a varied pool of interests, and we are able to use this to engage and connect with those who visit our clinic, for example, our Anime Amigos. Axia has a neurodiverse team and we passionately believe in valuing individual's interests.

Conducting neurodevelopmental assessments with possible outcomes of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Dyspraxia, we receive referrals from self-funding individuals as well as the NHS.

Axia's model of working is informed by the Partnership Model developed by Professor Hilton Davis and Dr Linda Buchan in the 1980s. This means that parents are viewed as the experts on their children and individuals as experts on themselves. Our task is to share the mutual expertise that is in the room in the spirit of openness, honesty and genuineness. We do not adopt a deficit model in relation to neurodevelopmental difference but rather focus on the strengths that come with neurodiversity as well as some of the challenges.

There is a strong emphasis on teamwork, supervision and CPD.
