We are a friendly, patient-focused dental practice in Gateshead seeking a reliable and detail-oriented
Administrative Assistant
to support our Practice Manager. This part-time role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills and a proactive, flexible approach. Experience is preferred but
not essential
-- full training will be provided by the Practice Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Manage patient accounts and maintain accurate financial records
Process monthly bills and liaise with suppliers
Conduct banking twice weekly (minimum 2 days apart)
Assist with the transition from Simplex D to Xero accounting software
Draft and manage safeguarding letters with professionalism and discretion
Promote and enrol patients into our Practice Plan membership scheme
Liaise with patients when required, providing clear and supportive communication
Support the Practice Manager with general administrative tasks within your capability
Requirements
Experience in basic bookkeeping or accounts administration (preferred but not essential)
Familiarity with Simplex D and/or Xero (desirable but can be taught)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and care
A flexible, dependable team player with a willingness to learn
