39 weeks per year (TTO plus Inset Days + 2 additional days)



Purpose of the Role

The main purpose of this role is to provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Academy. This includes supporting core processes, maintaining accurate records, and delivering responsive support to staff, pupils, and parents. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to meet the needs of the wider team and contribute to the overall success of the Academy.

General Administration Responsibilities

Assist with the school's main reception and switchboard, ensuring safeguarding of all visitors, pupils, and staff. Provide general administrative support, including reprographics, printing, filing, and correspondence. Manage incoming and outgoing post and ensure accurate distribution. Record and communicate messages, including pupil absences, to the appropriate person. Update and maintain the Academy information system (MIS) and pupil records. Support attendance, behaviour and welfare processes under the direction of senior staff. Handle and securely store confiscated items from pupils. Produce and distribute reports, agendas, minutes, newsletters, and other documentation as required. Provide refreshments for meetings and events as directed. Seek ways to improve quality and efficiency in all aspects of work.
As part of this role, you will contribute to key operational areas aligned to this grade.

Team members are expected to provide guidance and support when required, ensuring collaboration and continuity across the wider team.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

The following core duties & responsibilities are examples of the individual areas you would be expected to support and contribute to. Individual responsibilities will be distributed across team members at the same grade to ensure balanced workloads and effective delivery of services.

To have overview of the school policies compliance tracker and to support the administration of all policies. Act as a qualified first aider The first aid lead on first aid provision, including monitoring and order of supplies, tracking and organising appropriate training, and tracking and reporting of first aid incidents. Assist with the administration of pupil admissions throughout the academic year. Process and record pupil suspensions on Academy management information system (MIS) and issue parental letters in line with DfE guidance. Assist with confidential scanning of personnel files. Perform additional tasks as required, consistent with the responsibilities and grade of the role.
