Salary:

29,540 to 32,061 per annum


Working Pattern:

Full time, 37 hours per week

Location:

County Hall, Chichester and working from home (Hybrid)

The Health and Safety (H&S) Service is part of the Human Resources, Organisational Development and Communities Directorate. The work of the Service includes providing advice, guidance and training on all aspects of H&S management across the council and schools on how to comply with statutory health, safety and fire safety duties.



As the Administrative Officer, you will work in the H&S Service providing support and assistance to the programmes of work and management systems that comply with HSW standards, policies and procedures across WSCC.



You will work under the broad direction of the H&S Manager undertaking a range of administrative tasks associated with HSW, work on small projects under the guidance of the H&S Manager, and be expected to exercise independent judgement.



The job requires concentrated mental attention over lengthy periods and prolonged concentrated sensory attention to take minutes, process documents, and prepare complex documents for distribution.

What are we looking for?



You will be a great team player who can build and maintain good working relationships and who can communicate well both verbally and in writing. You will be organised, able to prioritise work and deliver on deadlines. You will have strong core administrative / office skills and be confident in dealing with problems and developing solutions. You will be able to concentrate for long periods of time and maintain a focus on attention to detail to produce meaningful and accurate outputs, such as statutory reports. Being both adaptable and flexible, you will enjoy the challenge this role will give you to meet service needs, where you will be able to work well in changing situations and embrace new ways of working positively and effectively. An interest in health, safety and wellbeing would be advantageous. In return, we offer opportunities for professional development, such as completing the Level 3 Health and Safety Apprenticeship
