Job Description

We're looking for an organised and proactive Administrative Officer to join our Client Legal Services team on a fixed-term 12-month contract. Reporting to the Network and Systems Coordinator, you'll play a key role in providing an efficient, high-quality reception and administrative service, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our business support operations.


Due to the duties and responsibilities of this role, it is essential that it is carried out onsite in CLAO Edinburgh.



Key responsibilities include:



Handling reception and telephone duties professionally and efficiently Managing case files and using the case management system Processing case documents, including downloading, photocopying, and scanning Managing incoming and outgoing mail through various communication methods Maintaining accurate filing and record-keeping systems Providing occasional typing assistance and other general administrative support, as required Supporting the Network and Systems Coordinator with delegated tasks Providing administrative support to other offices, either remotely or in person, when required.

To succeed in this role, you will need:



Strong communication and reception skills, with a professional telephone manner Proven IT competence, including the use of Microsoft and database systems Excellent organisation and attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Knowledge of filing and diary management systems.

The Civil Legal Assistance Office (CLAO)

is part of the Scottish Legal Aid Board, providing accessible legal support to those who need it most. Since 2008, we have helped people with their civil law problems by providing a combination of direct casework, expert guidance and training to advice organisations, and referrals to other providers of legal assistance.
