We're looking for a warm, capable and organised individual to support our growing youth services team.
Urban Heard
are a vibrant, forward-thinking charity working hard across North Solihull.
We support young people to develop into a better version of themselves, helping them to find inspiration, support and guidance for life which transcends any restrictions placed on them by their experiences.
Mission statement:
Walking alongside young people as they develop their identity, providing support and positive challenges to help them achieve the future they deserve;
Working closely with communities to develop activities which enable young people to develop their confidence, creativity and support networks as they navigate becoming an adult;
Providing safe spaces and trusted adults who can support both individuals and groups of young people as they work through issues which affect their lives to help them develop resilience and independence;
Broadening horizons beyond their immediate location, encouraging them to experience opportunities, have constructive fun, enjoy time with peers and create connections.
We have a dedicated youth centre and provide a range of activities, including sports, arts, media and social action campaigning. We are also a key partner in the
Connected Care Network
and we receive referrals for mentoring support for young people in our area.
What you'll be doing:
Contacting families
to arrange mentoring sessions and register young people for our activities.
Being the
first point of contact
for parents, carers and young people--answering queries, offering reassurance, and booking them into programmes.
Keeping our admin on track
--sending out confirmations, updating records, and working across platforms like Microsoft Office, social media and Canva.
Working flexibly and independently
, with support from a friendly team who care deeply about making a difference.
What we're looking for:
Strong communication and admin skills, with confidence using phone, email, and digital tools.
A friendly and professional manner--especially when speaking with families.
Someone who's proactive, organised, and able to manage their own time.
A flexible, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
Enhanced DBS, two references, and proof of right to work in the UK.
