Position: GP Surgery Administrator
Hours:

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrator to join our GP surgery team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various administrative duties within a healthcare setting, with a preference for those who are EMIS trained. The role will involve handling patient registrations, summarising clinical records, undertaking QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) work, ensuring compliance with CQC standards, taking minutes in meetings, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Registration:
Register new patients, ensuring all required documentation is completed and accurately entered into the practice system.
Verify patient information and maintain up-to-date records in line with NHS protocols.
Clinical Coding & Summarising:
Read-code patient records for new diagnoses and medical information.
Summarise patient clinical histories, ensuring all relevant data is accurately input into EMIS.
QOF & CQC Work:
Support the QOF process by collecting data and submitting relevant information for audits.
Assist with preparing for CQC inspections, ensuring that the practice meets the required standards and regulations.
Minutes of Meetings:
Attend and take detailed, accurate minutes for practice meetings, including clinical and staff meetings, and distribute as required.
General Administration:
Provide general administrative support, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and liaising with other healthcare providers.
Assist with filing and handling correspondence (e.g., letters, emails).
EMIS System Management:
Utilise the EMIS system for accurate record-keeping and data entry.
Preferably, applicants will have prior experience with EMIS for smooth integration into our team.
Support Team Members:
Provide assistance to practice managers, GPs, nurses, and other staff as required.
Assist with various patient-facing services and internal practice operations.
We use the EMIS Web system, so experience with it is a plus, but we will provide full training to the right candidate.
