Purpose of the Role
The Air Ambulance Coordinator plays a central role in supporting daily air ambulance operations by managing mission coordination, resource allocation, and the readiness of aeromedical equipment.
The postholder will ensure that all operational activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with 247 Aviation's operational and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Coordination
Coordinate all air ambulance missions, ensuring timely dispatch and clear communication between medical, flight, and ground teams.
Maintain real-time mission tracking and operational oversight.
Liaise with hospitals, emergency services, and referring agencies to ensure smooth mission planning and execution.
Support the management of mission documentation, including patient movement forms and handover reports.
Monitor mission progress, providing operational updates to management as required.
Equipment and Resource Support
Ensure all aeromedical equipment is serviceable, available, and compliant with safety and maintenance schedules.
Support the logistics of equipment deployment, including restocking and rotation between aircraft.
Liaise with clinical and engineering teams to report and resolve equipment issues.
Maintain an up-to-date equipment inventory and support the procurement or replacement of consumables.
Communication and Team Liaison
Act as a primary communication hub between flight crews, clinicians, and operational management.
Provide operational support to flight and medical teams before, during, and after missions.
Assist in the coordination of international and wing-to-wing missions, ensuring clarity across multiple providers.
Compliance and Documentation
Ensure adherence to 247 Aviation's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety management systems, and quality assurance processes.
Contribute to audit processes by recording mission data and equipment readiness.
Support post-mission debriefing and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Experience in air ambulance or aviation coordination, emergency dispatch, or clinical logistics.
Strong understanding of aeromedical operations and equipment management.
Excellent communication and multitasking skills under time pressure.
IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, mission management software, live tracking systems).
Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment
DBS and ability to gain full security clearance.
Desirable
Previous experience within HEMS , Ground Ambulance fixed-wing air ambulance operations.
