Thorn SDS, a niche Managed Service Provider, who are committed to enabling technology organisations and professionals to thrive within the Space, Defence and Security sectors, are on the hunt for an experienced
Agile Delivery Manager
to help drive the delivery of user-centred digital services that make a real difference.
This project is currently in its early setup phase. The role will ultimately be based in
Alton, Hampshire
but initial onboarding will take place in
Exeter
for a possible 2-3 months. Further occasional travel to Exeter will also be required. The position is primarily
onsite
, with a full-time schedule of 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
Scrum Master
to lead agile ceremonies, stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives and ensure the team stays focused and unblocked
Lead product lifecycle management including development, management and deployment
Ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, clearly articulating the cost / benefit of work and how it supports the product vision
Technical competence of AWS framework and leading software development/engineering teams to ensure delivery aligns with customer goals
Ensure delivery aligns with the
Government Digital Services (GDS) framework
.
Identify and manage
risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations
Champion
continuous improvement
, helping teams evolve and deliver better, faster
Ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, clearly articulating the cost / benefit of work and how it supports the product vision.
Requirements
Experience in working with Atlassian, managing JIRA backlogs and documentation in Confluence
Experience working with academic/research personnel to resolve operational issues and joint development of visualisation for new models
Experience with GitLab, Docker, Terraform, AWS applications and operations
Strong background in
Agile methodologies
(Scrum, Kanban)
Experience delivering mission critical operational services in accordance with UK Government standards with solid understanding of the
GDS framework
and delivering services within it
Skilled in
risk management
, issue resolution, and
stakeholder engagement
Confident working across multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments
Ability to provide support outside of normal working hours as required.
