The Agricultural Telesales Representative is responsible for selling agricultural products and services over the phone to farmers, growers, distributors, and agribusiness clients. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, understanding seasonal needs, and driving sales growth through proactive outbound and inbound calls.
Key Responsibilities
Make outbound sales calls to existing and prospective agricultural customers
Handle inbound calls and respond to product and pricing inquiries
Promote agricultural products such as seeds, fertilizers, chemicals, feed, equipment, or services
Understand customer needs related to crops, livestock, and seasonal cycles
Prepare quotes, process orders, and follow up to close sales
Maintain accurate customer records in CRM or sales systems
Meet or exceed sales targets and call activity goals
Build long-term relationships through regular follow-ups and after-sales support
Coordinate with field sales, logistics, and customer service teams
Stay informed about product updates, promotions, and agricultural market trends
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (agriculture or sales-related education is a plus)
Previous telesales, inside sales, or customer service experience preferred
Basic knowledge of agriculture, farming, or agribusiness (or willingness to learn)
Strong communication and persuasion skills
Comfortable working with phone-based sales and CRM software
Ability to handle objections and close sales professionally
Organized, self-motivated, and target-driven
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling agricultural inputs or services
Familiarity with farming seasons and crop cycles
Experience working with rural or agribusiness customers
Work Environment
Office-based or remote telesales role
May require flexible hours during peak agricultural seasons
