Job Description

Our company N-GAGE Therapeutic Care provides creative holistic modalities, therapies and education for young people. Our objective is to empower them with the support, tools, strategies and healing for a healthier future.

We are looking for a candidate who is driven by inspiring young people through wellbeing and education to be part of our team at N-Gage Therapeutic Care. This candidate would need to be able to work with young people who have been out of education for a duration and help them discover their passion and get back on a pathway of education.

We have a YP-led approach to teaching AQA qualifications, our students come from Local Authority who are not currently in education or training.

We are currently hiring for our team based in Billericay, offering support to learners with ADHD, SEMH and ASC needs who may struggle in traditional educational settings. We provide bespoke daily sessions, which operate on a 1:1 or small group basis. We work closely with the learners' support networks, both professional and family and try to create a holistic and engaging place for the learners to grow.

JOB DESCRIPTION



This role will also be expected to teach daily group or 1 to 1 sessions, dependent on operational needs. Any additional training that may be required to enable this, will provided by the company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



Use support-based and relationship-based approaches for the social, emotional and mental health needs of the learner. Plan and teach engaging games and activities based on the needs of the learner/s. Provide excellent behaviour management support skills to support learners who display behaviours that challenge. Completing report logs, progress reports as necessary - daily and termly. Working closely in a team of dedicated mentors. Providing admin support to the Centre Manager

Responsibilities of the post will also include:



Goal setting for learners in conjunction with EHCPs and recommendations from schools/agencies. Contributing information to Centre Manager to update external agencies. Communication with parents/carers at drop off and pick up times. Reporting of accidents, incidents, and safeguarding when necessary. Reporting daily attendance through a web-based system. Contributing to the general upkeep of the site, toilets/structures, and resources.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

Excellent behaviour management skills with a high emphasis on solution-focused planning and delivery of bespoke SEMH skills program. Excellent support skills with a commitment to critical reflection and professional development. A learner-focused approach and ability to differentiate and create bespoke opportunities according to learner needs. Knowledge of behaviour intervention and support practises. Commitment to safeguarding and safe practise. An understanding of learners with challenging behaviour.
Desirable

Recent experience of working with Secondary learners with SEMH difficulties and ASD/PDA. Knowledge of behaviour intervention and support practices. Experience of working with learners with challenging behaviours. Knowledge of inter-agency working.

Essential

Ability to work successfully as part of a team. Enthusiasm and drive for improvement. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). Self-motivated and resilient. Willingness to travel across company sites.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

5 GCSE's grade A-C or equivalent Willingness to complete necessary qualifications and training
Desirable

QTLS/PTLLS AET Level 2/3 Safeguarding Prevent First Aid PRICE Training
