This is a business-facing role within the MS AIML Data & Technology function to implement data solutions for our reporting teams and providing second-line technical expertise to the support team. Consequently, this role is a hybrid of technical analysis, process automation, and data engineering. The successful candidate will enable important projects to modernise reporting and improve end user access to high quality data.This is an exciting role for someone with a passion for helping business realise the benefits of good data engineering and practices. The technology stack is, principally but not limited to, Microsoft Azure, C#, .NET, and SQL server.
About The Job
What you will spend your time doing:

While there is rarely a 'typical' day within this role, here is a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:Produce high quality documentation that clearly articulates solution design and explains rationale for design choices. Provide advice and solutions to the reporting modernisation project. Hands-on development of enhancements to existing data processes and infrastructure. Advocate helping the business to replace legacy reporting and business processes. These are predominantly built with Excel and VBA at present. Collaborating with stakeholders and vendors, to identify remedial actions and plans to close issues and gaps in data quality or inefficiencies in the data pipeline. Take part in code reviews, planning and solution design meetings with the team. Advocate and assist with the upskilling of end users to enable MS AIML to be data literate. Be comfortable to discuss innovative ideas and solutions and develop new functionality using the development lifecycle. Work closely with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure user requirements are met. Consult with IT support, providing sufficient information and direction when system failures take place to enable further investigation. Build and maintain strong relationships within the Investor Services, Portfolio Management and Quant Risk teams, IT, and other business areas.

What you will need:
For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to have. These include:Bachelor's degree or similar in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline. A good grasp of at least one programming language like C#, Python and/or JavaScript is desirable along with any exposure to one or more of .NET, JIRA, Azure DevOps (Pipelines, CI/CD), Web Frameworks, SSIS or GIT. Experience with PowerQuery and PowerBI. Experience in database development, automation and reporting using SQL (SQL Server or similar). Handling of client IBOR data within an asset management company Willingness to partner with others to understand requirements, manage expectations, solve problems, and deliver solutions.
