Overall purpose of the role




The Graduate BI Analyst & Developer will support the design, development and maintenance of reports and dashboards that deliver insights across Blue. This role blends business analysis (understanding stakeholder needs and interpreting data) with hands-on BI development (building and optimising reports in Power BI and SSRS).We are looking for graduates who have already gained exposure to Power BI through projects, internships or academic work, and who are ready to apply these skills in a regulated financial services environment while continuing to develop into a full BI professional.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities




Business Analysis & Insight

Work with stakeholders (risk, finance, operations, compliance) to gather reporting requirements. Translate business needs into clear data and reporting specifications. Contribute to ad-hoc analysis and insights that support operational and strategic decisions.


BI Development

Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, building on prior project/internship experience. Support the creation and optimisation of SSRS reports. Build and refine data models and DAX measures. Assist in data preparation and validation using SQL queries.


Data Quality & Governance

Ensure outputs are accurate, reconciled, and aligned with definitions. Document report logic, data lineage, and business definitions. Support the Head of Data & Data Architecture in aligning reporting with Blues governance standards.


Collaboration & Support

Work alongside Data Engineers to access curated datasets. Provide first-line support for business users on BI-related queries. Promote best practices and self-serve reporting across teams.


What You Will Gain

Compliance and Regulation



Develop and maintain a full understanding of the Companys compliance requirements (including the Financial Conduct Authoritys Conduct Rules) and act in accordance with the standards, instructions in, and the spirit of those requirements. Take responsibility for ensuring that personal data within your remit is handled lawfully, fairly, and in line with the companys data protection policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with data protection standards, guidelines, and principles, acting in a manner that upholds these requirements while supporting the DPOs overall oversight responsibilities. For customer data, ensure it is processed securely and in accordance with data privacy obligations to protect the rights of individuals. For employee personal data, handle it with strict confidentiality and in compliance with employment and data protection legislation. Act to deliver good outcomes for our customers and understand how this requirement specifically applies to your role at Blue.

Skills and Experience




Essential

Recent graduate in Computer Science, Data/Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline. Demonstrated exposure to Power BI (via projects, coursework, or internship). Basic experience writing SQL queries. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills, able to explain findings to non-technical users.


Desirable

Internship or placement experience in BI, data, or reporting. Familiarity with SSRS, Excel Power Query, or another reporting tool. Knowledge of data modelling and DAX. Awareness of financial services or regulated reporting.

Person Specification



Curious & motivated keen to build on existing Power BI experience. Detail-oriented ensures accuracy and reliability in outputs. Collaborative works well with both technical and business colleagues. Resilient thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Commercially aware understands the role of BI in delivering business value.
