Animal Management Technician Instructor
to join our Animal Management team. This is a hands-on role combining animal husbandry, student supervision, and instructional support to deliver an outstanding learning experience.
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Animal Management Unit, supporting practical sessions, and ensuring high standards of welfare and safety. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic educational environment where your expertise will directly impact student development and success.
Essential Criteria
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Animal Management
Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English
Experience working in an animal management environment
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage and motivate students in practical settings
Key Responsibilities
Supervise students and support practical sessions within the Animal Management Unit
Deliver high standards of animal care in line with legislation and college policies
Lead on projects to improve the unit and expand species accommodation
Plan and implement schemes of learning in collaboration with tutors
Maintain stock levels and liaise with suppliers for procurement
Support promotional events and student recruitment activities
Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes
Maintain accurate records and support student assessment and progress
Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends
