Applications Specialist and Systems Trainer

at Practice Plus Group, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing and supporting a portfolio of critical clinical and administrative applications across our Secondary Care services.



This is a rewarding opportunity to take ownership of technical operations, engage with system users across the business, and deliver hands-on training--all while contributing to projects that directly impact patient care and operational efficiency.


This is a remote role with national travel to sites as required.

What you'll be doing





As our Applications Specialist and Systems Trainer, you will be:


Providing technical leadership and 1st-line support for a variety of clinical and operational systems Managing supplier relationships, troubleshooting system issues, and maintaining documentation and user access records Delivering effective end-user training and developing training materials aligned with business needs Supporting business reporting requirements, data integrity, and audit compliance Participating in system testing, configuration, upgrades, and the development of patient administration systems (PAS) Working closely with operational teams to ensure data quality and ongoing optimisation of systems Contributing to the design and implementation of business continuity, disaster recovery, and security practices Collaborating with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors on new system implementations and upgrades Participating in the Business Systems on-call rota and regularly visiting PPG sites to provide in-person support

What we'll look for in you




With your proven experience managing and supporting clinical or administrative applications in healthcare, you will also have:


A proactive, analytical mindset with excellent troubleshooting skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and support users at all levels Technical confidence with Microsoft Office, Citrix, healthcare databases, and system integration (e.g., HL7) Understanding of NHS information governance, data protection, and security standards Ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to multiple projects concurrently Willingness to travel nationally and participate in an on-call rota Familiarity with systems such as IMS Maxims, Datix, Medisoft, Unisoft/Solus, Medisite, Keystone, or MS Dynamics - desirable Experience in project management or deployment of applications in a healthcare environment - desirable Understanding of HL7 messaging and healthcare interoperability standards - desirable
