To ensure JM continues to lead in the clean hydrogen economy and support the development and manufacture of our catalyst-coated membrane (CCM) components, we now have a vacancy for an Applications Testing Specialist based at our Sonning Common site. The role will be part of a key team within the Hydrogen Technologies Test Facility, working on the evaluation of the performance and durability of CCM components for a variety of customer and internal development programmes focused on either Fuel Cells or Electrolysers.
As an Applications Testing Specialist, you will be the key interface between Hydrogen Technologies Applications Engineering and Testing to translate customer testing requirements into test methods and diagnostic techniques capable of generating robust, high-quality data. Implementation of new single-cell and stack hardware, test protocols and diagnostic techniques, along with data management and analysis will be significant ongoing themes.
The role:
You will help drive our goals by:Coordinate projects within the test facility focused on successfully installing, commissioning, and testing customer applications hardware for either fuel cell or electrolyser programmes
Liaise with internal and external customers to implement new single-cell and stack hardware installations, test protocols, and diagnostic techniques
Define and agree effective test data processing and analysis methods and liaise with other functions to report the results and help develop the scientific understanding of the tested component
Collaborate closely with the relevant Test Laboratory Leads to align delivery of customer applications testing with the test facility capability and schedules
Report on programme status to both internal and external key stakeholders
Support compliance with Quality and Environmental Management systems in accordance with the relevant IATF and ISO certification standards
Key skills/qualifications that will help you succeed in this role:Degree in an Engineering/Scientific discipline or proven laboratory experience
Experience operating and working with complex technical equipment
Proficient in using software tools for creating and presenting complex data
Confident in technical discussions with key customer stakeholders
Experience trouble shooting and fault finding
Proficient in using other technical software for machine operation
Experience in electrical or electrochemical principles
