Job Description

As an Apprentice Civil Engineer, you will study for a BEng BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering (Graduate Apprenticeship) with Heriot Watt University.

What does the role involve?




During your time as an Apprentice, you will spend 80% of your time on project work and 20% of time studying.


Working with Sweco will give you the opportunity to work on landmark projects and schemes of all shapes and sizes. You will also learn from experienced people who share a passion for working together with our customers to deliver technical excellence.


Working in the Development Infrastructure team, you will be supporting development teams by assisting with the provision of a multi-disciplinary consultancy service for Sweco's developer clients. You will be working on civil infrastructure engineering projects including development schemes (Roads, SUDs, foul, levels/cut and fill, etc), land regeneration and remediation engineering (ground models, geotechnical and geology etc.) and assisting the wider engineering team supporting with onshore wind and waste infrastructure projects.

What do you need to apply?




We are seeking Apprentices who:

Have an interest and basic understanding of Civil Engineering with a desire to progress their career in Highways. Have desire to learn, progress and challenge yourself. Are able to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with Clients and other team members and to produce written documents in clear English.

SQA Highers

at AABB or BBBBC (Mathematics desirable but not essential)

A-Levels

at ABC or BBB

Scottish Baccalaureate

Pass

Int. Baccalaureate

Foundation Apprenticeship

in Civil Engineering in conjunction with SQA Highers at AAB (Mathematics desirable but not essential) A combination of qualifications totalling 96 SCQF credits at level 6 or Minimum 126 UCAS points Are over 18 and can work in the UK with no restrictions. Are happy to be in the office on your non study days, at this level this is really important for your development.
