Our three-year Higher Apprenticeship Substations program will train you to become an engineer working on 11KV -132KV Substations within our major projects division. During your training, you'll learn about project management, sales, design, testing equipment, safety protocols, system protection and control, whilst working on projects involving substation refurbishment, substation new builds, maintenance, technical support, problem diagnosis, and fault fixing.
This job will have a significant impact on the electricity network across England and Wales for the next 40 or 50 years. You'll be involved in, asset replacement and refurbishment, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and connecting new customers. You'll also play a crucial role in integrating renewable energy sources like wind and solar farms into the electricity network.
As you progress, you may even commission new equipment and take on responsibilities for the safety of your co-workers. If this sounds like the kind of opportunity you'd like to be part of, we're very interested in talking to you!
By the end of the programme, you'll hold a Level 4 Electrical Power Network Engineer and, most importantly, have a job waiting for you!
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a Level 4 Electrical Power Network Engineer Apprenticeship which will take you 3 years to complete. You will be fully supported by our partnered training provider, Loughborough College, to achieve this qualification by attending college on a block release basis - travel and accomodation will be covered by Mitie if required.

We are looking for ambitious, driven individuals who are excited about learning and ready to take on new challenges. To succeed as a Mitie apprentice, you'll need:
Five GCSE's at Grade C/4 (or above) including Level 2 or GCSE C/4 or above in English, Maths and Science.
AND
Two A-Levels, including Maths or Physics with a grade of C or above, or a BTEC that includes a Maths or engineering module. Certificates must be provided at the interview stage.
A valid UK driving license that allows you to drive three months before your start date.
The ability to live away from home. You'll also spend time in Loughborough, studying for your Higher National Certificate in Electrical Power Network Engineer Apprenticeship
