Great opportunity to join the production team at Pyroban and learn to build a range of explosion protection products to help manage the risk and remove the sources of ignition found in diesel engines and mobile equipment in offshore oil and gas installations and onshore refineries and petrochemical plants.

JOB PURPOSE:

Pyroban Limited, the world leader in hazard protection engineering, is looking for Apprentice Electrical/Mechanical Fitters to join the Production Team at its engineering and manufacturing facility in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex. You will learn to produce forklift truck conversions and oil and gas engine packages.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn a variety of skills including:

Undertaking wiring modifications to wiring diagram Light fabrication to make mounting brackets inside enclosures and for ancillaries Populating enclosures to wiring standards, and wiring the electrical system to wiring diagram and engineering instruction Selecting appropriate cables and components for on-job manufactured parts Undertaking bench skills including crimping, soldering and cable-routing Reading and interpreting engineering instructions (drawings, wiring diagrams and photographs) Spray painting of components Mechanical assembly The safe use of hand tools Safe working practices within a production environment.

Apprenticeship duration 42 months plus end point assessment

Weekly working hours

Mon to Thurs 7am to 3.45pm with 30 minute lunch and Friday 7am to 11.30am

Total working hours - 37.5

Training to be provided:

On completion of the apprenticeship, you will have achieved the following qualifications;

ST0432 Engineering Fitter Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard EAL L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
The final apprenticeship completion certificate will be issued on achievement of the above qualification and successful completion of end point assessment.
