Join this busy team as an engineering operative apprentice and you will learn how to provide maintenance support for extrusion machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. The role involves assisting with machine maintenance, basic repairs, quality and ensuring smooth daily operations. The apprentice will learn to undertake routine maintenance practices, diagnose problems, interpret technical drawings, work with various tools, and follow safety standards. This hands-on position provides valuable experience in engineering operations and offers the opportunity to develop technical skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
Support with basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machinery to ensure proper functioning.
Learn to perform minor repairs and replacements on equipment under the guidance of experienced technicians.
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimise downtime and prevent major equipment failures.
Participate in regular equipment inspections and preventive maintenance schedules.

free from full time education to be eligible to apply for it and have the minimum qualification level to apply for it

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is 7.55 per hour (As of the 1st April 2025). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16- to 18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their ages applies.
