Description



An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Installation, Maintenance and Controls Limited's team as an apprentice Fire and Security Engineer! This is an exciting role for a motivated individual looking to begin a rewarding career in the fire and security engineering industry.



? An Apprentice Engineer at IMAC helps design, install, and maintain physical security systems that protect buildings and assets. The succesful applicant will support experienced engineers with hands-on tasks such as fitting and wiring equipment like CCTV cameras, alarms, access control systems, and gates.



The role involves learning how to read technical drawings, follow safety standards, and test systems to make sure everything works properly.



The successful apprenitce will also assist with documentation and site assessments, gaining practical experience in how complete security solutions are planned and delivered. It's a hands-on role that builds strong technical and problem-solving skills in the security industry.



Entry requirements

Desired skills and qualities:

A full UK driving license would be preferred, but strong local applicants that can commute will also be considered Previous electrical experience would be a bonus Able to pass an enhanced DBS background check You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team meeting tight deadlines. You should be committed to developing new skills and gaining knowledge of the fire and security industry. Physically fit, and comfortable working at high and low heights Willingness to learn and a genuine interest in learning more about the wider fire and security industry Able to work in a team as well as motivated to work alone when required The ideal candidate will need the confidence to deal with clients in a professional manner, be reliable, adaptable, conscientious and able to follow instructions. A keen interest in technology, and computer literate

Training to be provided



Skills for Security will deliver the Level 3 apprenticeship via block release training weeks at their Walsall training centre via a block release system. This would involve going to the training centre Monday - Friday 1 week in every 8 weeks.



You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre, and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.



You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.
