An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Open Protocol's team as an apprentice Fire and Security Engineer! This is an exciting role for a motivated individual looking to begin a rewarding career in the fire and security engineering industry.



As an Apprentice Fire and Security Engineer, you will work alongside experienced professionals to learn how to install, maintain, and service a wide range of fire and security systems. The role includes working at heights and will provide both practical, hands-on experience and the opportunity to gain industry-recognised qualifications.



You will be learning about, and working on, installing, repairing and maintaining the following fire and security equipment:

CCTV Smoke detectors and alarm panels Intruder alarms Access control systems Door entry/exit systems

Entry requirements



Desired skills and qualities:



You must hold a full UK driving license, please only apply if you have a driving license 17+ due to above license requirement Previous electrical experience would be a bonus Able to pass an enhanced DBS background check You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team meeting tight deadlines. You should be committed to developing new skills and gaining knowledge of the fire and security industry. Physically fit, and comfortable working at high and low heights Willingness to learn and a genuine interest in learning more about the wider fire and security industry Able to work in a team as well as motivated to work alone when required The ideal candidate will need the confidence to deal with clients in a professional manner, be reliable, adaptable, conscientious and able to follow instructions. A keen interest in technology, and computer literate

Training to be provided



Skills for Security will deliver the Level 3 apprenticeship via block release training weeks at their Warrington training centre via a block release system. This would involve going to the training centre Monday - Friday 1 week in every 8 weeks.



You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre, and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.



You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.

The apprenticeship is approximately 28 months, and full commitment is required throughout, please only apply if you are comfortable with this.
