Job Description

First Steps Nursery (Lowton WA3 2RD) is seeking to employ an apprentice nursery practitioner to join our growing team due to a sudden increase in numbers. The role is an apprenticeship and the company will be sign you up with an apprenticeship provider to complete your Level 2 Early Years Qualification. Candidates are required to have a GCSE grade of 4 or above in English and a grade 4 or above in Maths is desirable.

You must have a warm, smiling face that makes every child feel special and loved.

You must be able to laugh at jokes you don't understand, or you don't find funny. Child humour can be a confusing minefield to navigate!

The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, however the ability to sing out of tune in front of a crowd is essential!

Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of upmost importance.

You must be able to remain focused in environments with high noise levels.

The ability to remember the names of many children, their parents, siblings, grandparents, pets and special soft toys is a key component of this job. This is something that will be developed over time!

Finally you must be prepared to feel loved, special, and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job quite like this one.

First Steps Nursery is committed to safeguarding, the successful candidate will be required to purchase a new DBS unless you are on the update system.
