JB Decorating Contractors Ltd., a leading painting and decorating contractor working on residential and commercial projects across the UK, is offering an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Painter & Decorator to join our growing team.

About the Role

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside our experienced decorators, learning every aspect of the trade from surface preparation and paint application to specialist finishes and safe use of equipment. You will also have the opportunity to learn aspect of other trades such as general building & maintenance, carpentry and plastering finishes. You'll gain hands-on experience on live projects, developing skills that will set you up for a successful career in the industry.

You'll also work towards a recognised Painter & Decorator Apprenticeship Standard with an approved training provider. Training will be delivered both on-site and through structured learning.

Pay in line with national minimum wage (rate dependent on age/apprenticeship stage)

What You'll Be Doing

Assisting with the preparation of surfaces. Learning to apply paints, varnishes, and specialist coatings. Supporting the team with all site-specific tasks Maintaining tools and ensuring safe working practices. Following health & safety procedures at all times.

What We're Looking For

A genuine interest in painting & decorating and the construction industry. Willingness to learn and work as part of a team. Punctual, reliable, and hard-working. Good attention to detail and pride in your work. GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English are desirable but not essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: 8.00-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
