Overview

We are seeking a motivated and diligent Apprentice Plumber to join our team. This paid position offers hands-on experience in plumbing and related trades, providing a solid foundation for a future career in the industry. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of experienced professionals, gaining practical skills in various aspects of plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair. A keen interest in mechanical systems and a willingness to learn are essential for this role.

Duties

Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Use hand tools and power tools to cut, assemble, and install pipes and fixtures. Support in welding tasks where necessary, adhering to safety standards. Measure and mark materials accurately using basic maths skills to ensure proper fitting. Participate in carpentry tasks related to plumbing projects, such as framing or support structures. Handle heavy lifting of pipes and equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with assembly of plumbing components and systems according to specifications. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Support with vehicle checks and driving duties if required for transporting materials or equipment.

Skills

Basic knowledge of plumbing principles and practices. Proficiency with hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers. Experience or familiarity with power tools used in construction or maintenance work. Mechanical knowledge relevant to plumbing systems and equipment. Welding skills are desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is important. Good understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations. Carpentry skills beneficial for supporting structural aspects of plumbing projects. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively during installation or repairs. Valid driving licence for commercial driving purposes is advantageous but not mandatory at the outset.
