What will I be doing as an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor?

Our Early Careers Development Programme can vary, depending on what step you join us at!

We can fully support you from the beginning of your level 4 undergraduate programme or if you have already commenced surveying studies and have achieved HNC/HND level; we can support your application to get you started a bit further on in your learning journey at 2nd or 3rd year at undergraduate level!

Not only will be support you to obtain a professional qualification, but you will gain first class on-the-job experience in your role fully supported by line management and the wider network of skilled colleagues in the business. The Early Careers Development Programme allows you to start your career and get paid as you learn!

A day as an Apprentice QS can look like:

  • Applying best practice to our commercial processes to help maximise returns in terms of profit.
  • Using your keen eye to identify and drive out any redundant costs
  • Supporting with the preparation and closure on monthly invoices looking at variations, claims, and any disputes.
  • Learning how to conduct project financial forecasts
  • Becoming the go-to-person for our and wider contractual, commercial, regulatory procedures

Your salary will start in line with the national living wage for 2024. (At least \xc2\xa321,250) A benefit of our Early Careers Development Programme is continuous recognition over the 2-4 years with salary progression of up to a maximum 5% every 6 months.

You will also benefit from a Company Car or Car Allowance reflecting Morgan Sindall Benefit Grade .You will also be entitled to Private Health Care Cover with Life Assurance up to 4 times your basic salary.

To add to our amazing package, upon completion of a recognised academic or professional qualification/membership, you may be entitled to a monetary award of \xc2\xa31000!

This includes full membership to a technical institution or completion of your degree apprenticeship.

What you will need.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll need a minimum of the following:-
  • 2 A Levels grade B or;
  • BTEC National Diploma DDM or;
  • Applicants must hold 4 GCSEs grade 4 or above (previously 5 GCSEs A-C) including Maths and English or equivalent.
In addition to formal learning, you will be able to
  • Help us promote our thriving industry with your enthusiasm!
  • Eagerness to develop with an ability to travel to our sites where your on-the-job learning will be!
  • Become the key link between design and contractors on our projects, provide key commercial advice on costs and contracts.
