Job Description
The National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa boasts two exceptional courses - the Hotchkin Course and the Bracken Course. The Hotchkin Course, consistently ranked among the top courses in the UK and the world, is celebrated for its natural beauty and challenging heathland layout. The Bracken Course, while younger, offers a different but equally enjoyable experience with its unique design and strategic play.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking individual to help maintain our courses and grounds. You will be hands-on in all aspects of course maintenance, working both individually and as part of a supportive and experienced team. The position is predominately working outdoors in all conditions with an early start and weekend work on a rota basis.
An interest in Golf would be advantageous but not essential. Full training will be given along with the opportunity to study and gain qualifications.
Your duties main include but are not limited to-
Course maintenance:
Mowing greens, tees, fairways, rough areas; setting up markers and hole positions; removing dew and course debrisBunker work & hazards:
Raking, renovating, edging bunker surrounds and water hazard zonesTurf and soil care:
Applying seed, fertiliser, top?dressing; scarifying, aerating and monitoring turf health and soil conditionsPest, disease & weed control:
Identifying turf disorders, pests, weeds and applying treatment under supervisionIrrigation & drainage:
Supporting installation, maintenance, and operation of irrigation and drainage systemsEnvironmental stewardship:
Assisting with wildlife habitats, biodiversity and ecological areas around the courseEquipment & machinery:
Preparing, operating and maintaining turf machinery safely; flagging any faults; learning tractor operation and attachmentsCommunications & reporting:
Recording course conditions, green speeds (e.g., using Stimpmeter) and working with the greens team and supervisorsContinuous development:
Engaging in off-the-job training, keeping up with professional standards.Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From 7.55 per hour
