Job Description

Simon Dean are looking to recruit a Building Apprentice / Trainee for a permanent role to support our building and civils team.

Work environments include industrial estates, offices, railway stations and ports where a safe working nature is essential.

Candidates should be 18 years or older to apply for this position due to the safety critical nature.

Typical Projects:

Ground works for electrical ducting. Lighting column installations. Industrial building repairs and maintenance. Small scale construction projects. Installation of security doors. Plumbing installations to site cabins. Supporting Electrical projects and cable pulls.
Duties:

Ensure safe working practices are carried out including wearing and using the correct PPE. Willingness to learn about full variety of building techniques and skills. Apply yourself, not just to fix the issue in hand, but ensure it doesn't happen going forward. Work towards a quality finish where the job is complete.
Experience:

Experience working in a construction / engineering environment beneficial. Experience utilising hand tools and power tools. (Breaker, Stihl Saw, CAT Scanner, SDS) Experience operating plant and machinery beneficial. (360 Excavator, Dumper, Telehandler, Cherrypicker)
Qualifications expected to work towards (company funded):

CSCS Card Level 2 NVQ Diploma Groundwork and General Construction
