We're looking for an enthusiastic
Apprentice Multiskilled (cloth) Production Operative
to join our team in Cloth Production. You'll work alongside experienced weavers, Twisters and tuners, learning all of these technical crafts while earning your
Level 2 Textile qualification
at the
Textile Centre of Excellence
The hours are 6am to 2pm & 2pm to 10pm alternate weeks Monday to Friday
What you'll do:
Assist in minimising loom downtime by supporting job changes, weft changes, piece felling and weaving, by working alongside tuners, weavers and twisters
Learn to understand and interpret peg plans, drafts etc
Learn weaving principles including set up, operating and monitoring
Recognising faults, and how to respond to these quickly to avoid long running issues and troubleshooting
Ensure fabric meets design, patterns and quality
Assist and check lease bands, rods, warp sheets and ensure all ends are in the lease and warped to pattern
Support setting up drawing in and knotting machines, ensuring correct picking needle size
Maintain a safe working environment by strictly adhering to company Health & Safety rules and procedures
Maintain high standards of housekeeping
Assist with safe movement of materials and finished pieces

Textile Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship Level 2 - Textile Centre of Excellence, Huddersfield
Course includes:
Preparing for textile manufacturing operations
Operating machinery and equipment following Standard Operational procedures (SOP)
Complete Quality Assurance activities
Prepare materials
Contribute to maintaining the workplace environment (H&S)
Conduct basic maintenance
Complete work records
Contribute to continuous improvement
