As part of our commitment to developing the next generation of Welders we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Welding Apprentice to join our Power and Control business at our HS Marston facility in the Midlands.
What you will do:
During the 2-year Level 3 Apprenticeship, you will receive broad-based training covering many aspects of Aerospace Manufacture, specialising as a welding apprentice.
Your primary placement will be within our Pure Power Cell of the organisation where we produce Heat Exchangers for the Aerospace Industry. Supported by our experienced team you will:
Learn different welding techniques and processes
Set the welding plant
Learn how to clean and prepare prior to welding including the grinding of tungstens
Shadow employees to learn our processes and put into practice what you have learned at college
Learn how to write and follow Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
Continuous improvement activities
Comply with environmental health and safety regulations
Attend college on a weekly basis and complete all assigned apprenticeship work on time and to a high standard
What you will learn:
This comprehensive Level 3 Apprenticeship, delivered in partnership with InComm, is ideally suited to you if you are motivated, diligent, and excited by a career in Aerospace Manufacturing. Alongside gaining hands-on experience and a broad understanding of the Manufacture/Welding of heat exchangers, you will work towards a level 3 Plate Welding apprenticeship helping to shape a strong foundation for your future career - which we hope may lead to securing a permanent role with us!
Qualifications we prefer:
We expect that you will be just starting your career in Manufacturing so, alongside our training partner, we will delight in training and supporting you through your career journey to successfully complete your apprenticeship. That means you need to be a willing learner and committed to achieving both business and personal results whilst working as part of a team. You should have strong communication and problem-solving skills and a keen interest in Aerospace Manufacturing. You will have obtained a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above including Mathematics and a STEM subject.
