We are seeking a skilled Architectural and Structural Steelwork Site Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in the installation of a wide range of steelwork, including structural steel frames, staircases, balustrades, handrails, gantries and other bespoke architectural metalwork, on various commercial sites across the UK. The successful applicant will work with hand tools and power tools to install precise and quality products. The majority of our works are conducted with Blue Chip clients.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and fabrication drawings.
Install structural steel components including beams, columns, and bracings.
Fit architectural steel features such as balustrades, staircases, handrails, decorative metalwork and glazing balustrades.
Carry out on-site drilling, cutting, and welding as required.
Ensure all components are securely installed and meet the required standards and tolerances.
Work closely with site managers, other trades, and project teams to ensure installations meet design and quality specifications.
Operate hand and power tools, MEWPs, and other lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
Conduct basic snagging, adjustments, and alignment as required.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with Health & Safety regulations.
Perform inspections of installations and report any issues or defects to the supervisor.
Experience
Proven experience as a steel fitter or metalwork installer (5 years minimum)
Strong understanding of structural and architectural steel components.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various hand tools, power tools, magnetic drills and other site equipment
Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
A proactive attitude towards problem-solving
Ability to work under pressure and manage workload.
Good attendance and timekeeping record.
Valid CSCS Card
SSSTS (Advantage but training can be provided to a suitable candidate)
NVQ Level 2 in Architectural Metalwork (Advantage but training can be provided to a suitable candidate)
IPAF & PASMA (Advantage but training can be provided to a suitable candidate)
Full UK Driving License
