Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer-aided design and be proficient in various CAD software tools. This role is essential for producing high-quality designs and schematics that meet project specifications and contribute to successful construction and system design.

Responsibilities

Create detailed CAD drawings and schematics using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop design concepts and ensure accuracy in all technical documentation. Utilise tools like SketchUp, Grasshopper 3D, Rhinoceros 3D, and SolidWorks to enhance design visualisation and functionality. Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including plans, sections, elevations, and details. Conduct regular reviews of designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Maintain an organised library of CAD files and documentation for easy access by team members. Assisting in the preparation of planning applications through the Planning Portal. Support graphic design efforts related to presentations and project proposals. Collaborating with senior architects and other team members to ensure projects meet deadlines and specifications. Ensuring all work is completed with a high level of attention to detail and precision.

Requirements

Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, SolidWorks, and 3ds Max. Experience with design tools such as SketchUp, Grasshopper 3D, and Rhinoceros 3D is highly desirable. Knowledge of Building Regulations is essential Strong understanding of construction principles and system design processes. Ability to produce high-quality schematics with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. A background in graphic design is an advantage but not essential. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
