Loughborough University is advertising for the role of University Archivist to join our Library Services. This is a 0.5FTE (18.5 hours per week), open-ended position.
The role will include:

  • Supporting the University Library's activity by managing the University Archive service.
  • Overseeing the management and development of the physical and digital collections of the University Archive and to ensure these are preserved, discoverable and accessible for the purposes of teaching and research.
It is an exciting time to be joining the University Archive. We have begun to make our archival collections more visible and accessible and have begun a digitisation programme for parts of our collections.
The post-holder will line manage one 0.5FTE Archival Assistant and we also support volunteers to work in the Archive (we currently have two working for us).
Reporting to the Open Research Development Lead, the archivist will become part of the Open Research, Copyright, and Archive Group within Library Services. This grouping works together to increase the visibility, discoverability, and preservation of our research outputs and archival collections.
