Local Coordinator, East Surrey

Bright World Guardianships takes care of international students who are studying at UK boarding schools. Our (Local) Area Coordinator network play a crucial role in the care that we offer to students and the development of the areas in which we operate.

We are recruiting for an Area Manager (or 'Local Coordinator') in East Surrey, with Epsom being the ideal base for this position due to it's central location to the boarding schools in the county and the area.

The role will be starting for September 2025, for the new academic year 2025/26 and then beyond.

If you do not live in, or close to, Epsom then we are unlikely to proceed with your application -

due to the nature of the role and the mileage that our clients pay for your visits we have to ask that you live in this geographical location, or nearby, we are also unable to accept applications from outside the UK.

The role offers:

Flexible working hours Working from a home office Requirement to attend some activities at the schools in the area and visit host families Must be able to drive, have access to their own car and be prepared to travel up to 90 minutes to some schools and host families.
Financial remuneration includes:

Payments for mileage Host family visits and student visits Parent's Evenings and school PR visits Termly payments for each student and additional payments for each time one a student stays with a host family. Paid attendance and travel for our Annual Conference in June

this position is NOT Full Time

This role would fit well around another part time role, or self employed role and those in another Full Time role are not ideally suited to this role due to the flexibility for visits required.

The self-employed and freelance role

of the Local Coordinator is to manage and develop the guardianship of students and school relationships within your local area:

To uphold our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people To agree to having an Advanced DBS Check for working with Children and Young People before starting in post
Student Care

To act as primary contact and 'Buddy' to Bright World Guardianship students at UK boarding schools, with the possibility of having some university students too. Visiting boarding school students, attending Parent's Evenings and keeping in touch by phone and email throughout the year. To maintain your area of our online student portal, uploading reports and notifications on your students on this platform. To assist any visiting parents with meeting a host family (this happens occasionally when parents come over with students) To act as an emergency local contact should a student need picking up urgently, or in case of a medical emergency where the school and/or the host family cannot assist
PR & Business Development

To grow and develop the area for Bright World Guardianships by maintaining excellent contact with existing schools and researching and forging good relationships with new schools.
Host Family Inspections

To visit and inspect host families in your local area and report back to Head Office by completing our host family questionnaire, taking digital photos, sighting and recording identification checks for Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates.

The company follows Safer Recruitment practices to protect children and young people at risk of harm. Host family applicants must be 25 years and over. All members of a host family aged 16 or over will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check.

We ask that you be computer literate for this role with the administration part of the job.

We also ask that you hold a valid driving license and car insurance for the UK while using public transport is acceptable for some visits, others will require the use of a car.

We will be holding a telephone screening conversation with successful, interested candidates to discuss the role further before the application form and interview stages.
