Area Delivery Unit Manager

to lead and evolve our Delivery Unit model in the final mile. In this role, you'll play a critical part in designing and improving the way our Delivery Units operate - enhancing courier experience, driving performance, and supporting customer and client satisfaction. Working closely with regional leadership and operational teams, you'll be instrumental in shaping the Delivery Unit of the future.

Provide expert guidance on sourcing, cost modelling, professionalism, and operational standards across Delivery Units. Lead performance initiatives through process improvements, coaching, and support for Delivery Unit teams. Support the design and implementation of a commercially viable and scalable Delivery Unit model that grows with our network. Analyse forecasted volumes to ensure that Delivery Units are adequately resourced and prepared, especially during peak. Act as the planning lead for the area, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure capacity and capability align with demand. Input into the creation of business strategies by designing improvements in training and operational excellence. Own the implementation of changes by coaching Regional and Community Delivery Managers to embed new standards. Champion a specific functional area (e.g., sourcing, resourcing, training, cost effectiveness) to drive innovation and share best practice across the wider delivery organisation. Leverage insights from the Performance Team to guide operational decisions and improve service, cost and quality outcomes.

We are looking for:



Full UK Driving Licence required IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification preferred Knowledge of the self-employed courier model and logistics operations Proven experience in customer-focused roles and managing performance standards Budget planning and financial oversight experience Background in coaching and leading field-based teams or operational change Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement contingency plans effectively
