As a Production Area Leader, you will:
Lead and organise Line Leaders across production areas.
Manage staff performance in line with production plans and KPIs.
Monitor quality of output, addressing variances and driving continuous improvement.
Actively promote food safety, quality standards, and compliance with HACCP and company systems.
Support audits, investigations, and corrective actions to maintain site standards.
Communicate effectively with staff and management to ensure clear understanding of goals and performance.
Deliver team briefs, manage training needs, and foster a positive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out regular performance and training briefings to ensure targets are met.
Coordinate daily head count per area/line and manage staff redeployment as required.
Support and coach staff to resolve issues, prevent downtime, and drive efficiency.
Ensure adherence to food safety and quality procedures at all times.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
Avoid staff shortages and maintain stock levels to meet deadlines.
Handle staff disciplines (excluding Gross Misconduct) when required.
Organise and deliver relevant staff training through the Training Team.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong computer skills and the ability to provide accurate data.
Knowledge of KPI indicators (labour, yield, giveaway, waste, plan attainment).
Understanding of efficiency, daily plans, star card procedure, and financial implications.
Good knowledge of planning, processing, and quality procedures.
Ability to work under pressure and within budget parameters.
Qualifications:
GCSEs in Maths and English, or equivalent/relevant experience.
NVQ / IFE qualification
Food Safety for Manufacturing Level 2.
HACCP Level 2.
