We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Area Manager to join our growing Northern Trust team and facilitate the expansion of the company and its services.

Position Summary:

The Area Manager will play a key leadership role in overseeing the effective delivery of high quality domiciliary care services across a defined region. This includes direct line management and support of a team of Care Managers, while also taking operational responsibility for their own allocated area of services.

The role ensures that care services are compliant, person-centred, and responsive to the needs of service users. The Area Manager will drive performance, promote quality assurance, and provide strategic leadership to maintain the highest standards of care and service delivery.

Responsibilities



Provide leadership, guidance, and operational oversight to Area Managers within the region. Support, monitor, and mentor Area Managers to ensure service performance meets regulatory and internal standards. Take direct responsibility for managing and supporting services within the Regional Manager's own designated area. To actively participate and supervise in the delivery of care to service users to ensure that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met whilst ensuring dignity, choice, independence and respect

Monitoring and Mentoring of New Staff:


Oversee the induction, training, and ongoing support of new staff across the region to ensure consistent quality and adherence to company standards.

Referral Management:


Manage and oversee new client referrals, ensuring timely assessments, appropriate service matching, and smooth onboarding into care services.

Client Care Plan Development:


Support the creation, review, and update of person-centred care plans, ensuring they are comprehensive, compliant, and reflect the individual needs of each service user.

Complaint Management:


Lead the investigation and resolution of complaints in a professional and timely manner, identifying learning opportunities and ensuring service improvements are implemented.

Monitoring of Client Satisfaction:


Regularly assess client feedback and satisfaction levels through surveys, reviews, and direct engagement, using findings to improve service delivery.

Rota Allocation and Guaranteed Hours Management:


Oversee effective rota planning across services, ensuring coverage aligns with contractual obligations, and guaranteed hour contracts are managed fairly and efficiently.

Accurate Documentation and Reporting:


Ensure all incidents, complaints, and key events are accurately documented, reported, and analysed in line with organisational policy and regulatory requirements.

Updating of Management Information Systems:


Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within internal management systems, supporting operational oversight and strategic decision-making.

Essential Requirements:



Highly motivated manager with a minimum of 5 years leading a team of care staff Be proactive with excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills Proven planning and organisational skills Flexibility to assist outside of office hours (evenings/weekends on rota basis)
