Job Description

We are a small group of Early Years nurseries in and around Bath seeking an experienced Nursery SENCO to lead our SEND provision across 4 settings, working closely with our Managers and staff to support the best start for children with additional needs. The candidate must have relevant early years experience and a level 3 qualification.

The successful candidate will support the settings by;

Providing guidance, advice and practical in- setting support to the nurseries, about approaches to identification, assessment and intervention within the SEN Code of Practice. Providing day to day support for staff and managers setting based ensuring arrangements are in place to support children with SEND. Developing and disseminating good practice. Providing initial SENCo training and ongoing support in all EY settings through setting visits and targeted training. Embedding a strengths-based, whole setting approach for meeting the needs of children with SEND
Liaising closely with BANES EY SEND team and presenting cases for the Special Educational Needs Disability and Inclusion Panel

(SENDIP)
Working with and signposting to a wide range of other professional colleagues from within the Education, Health and Social Care sector.

Working in partnership with parent/carers through our visits to early years settings and multi-agency Team Around the Child Meetings and informing parents of the local impartial support service SEND Partnership Service
