Asbestos Bulk Analyst / Business Administrator

Job Description


Business administrative site support and the analysis of bulk samples to determine the asbestos content with reference to HSE publication Asbestos: The Analysts\xe2\x80\x99 Guide (HSG 248).

Responsibilities will include: * Actively participating in relevant meetings as required, taking minutes, and distributing to the team via Cemar.

  • Dealing with incoming enquiries efficiently, ensuring that all relevant parties/systems are updated immediately.
  • Assisting the Hinkley field team with the relevant aspects of C365 and CEMAR.
  • Aiding with the procurement of equipment and consumables for the Magnox team.
  • Assisting the Operations Manager with AFP record keeping.
  • Analysis of samples delivered to the laboratory.
  • Completion of data entry on TEAMS.
  • Completion of certificates of analysis as and when required.
  • Ensuring that the laboratory is always kept clean.
  • Ensuring technical compliance of all work.
  • Ensuring that all asbestos related work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and associated documentation.
  • Complying with the Company General Quality Procedures with support from the Quality Manager.
  • Reporting any occurrences during business activity that may require reporting to our insurers or legal advice.
  • Participating in internal and external (AIMS) audit scheme for asbestos identification.
  • Ensuring that all records are kept up to date.
  • Ensuring the security of laboratory equipment and records.
  • Ensuring that samples are stored and disposed of as detailed in company and Magnox guidelines.
  • Attending training courses as and when required.
  • Carrying out any other duties required as part of the overall strategy to achieve the company\xe2\x80\x99s objectives.
  • Upholding company mission vision and values.
  • Ensuring the highest quality standards are met in all areas.
Requirements * Experience in delivering a quality and professional service to clients.
  • Experience communicating with clients at an administrative level.
  • Experience of working with Excel, Word, and software databases
  • Experience in dealing with suppliers.
  • Demonstrable experience within the asbestos field and meeting the requirements for the role as set out in internal procedures (GPD 3 AIM PLM Procedures).

Current recognised qualifications:
  • The BOHS P401
  • The BOHS Certificate of Competence in Asbestos (CoCA)
  • The Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Asbestos Bulk Analysis (PLM)
  • RSPH Level 4 Certificate in Asbestos and Project Management
