As an ASHP / Renewables Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the delivery of air source heat pump and renewable energy installations and associated maintenance works across CCS contracts. You will be responsible for supervising engineers and subcontractors, ensuring all works are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with MCS, PAS 2030/2035, manufacturer requirements, and CCS procedures.
The role focuses on driving quality, consistency, and operational efficiency across renewable installations, supporting production targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship, documentation, and customer experience. You will work closely with Technical Managers and the operational teams to identify issues, implement improvements, and contribute to the ongoing development of CCS's renewables capability.
Your technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to safety and continuous improvement will be essential in achieving operational excellence within the ASHP and renewables team.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise ASHP and renewable energy installation works across client properties and major contracts.
Ensure all works are carried out professionally and responsibly, always representing CCS.
Ensure installations comply with:
+ MCS standards
+ PAS 2030 / PAS 2035 requirements
+ Manufacturer installation instructions
+ Relevant Building Regulations and industry best practice Support the Operations and Technical Managers with day-to-day operational delivery.
Coordinate works across trades where required (electrical, building, fabric, commissioning).
Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks on ASHP and renewable installations.
Ensure commissioning, handover, and system documentation are completed accurately and to required standards.
Identify non-conformances, technical issues, or trends and support corrective and preventative actions.
Ensure all PPE is present, suitable, and used correctly on site.
Ensure all tools, test equipment, and assets are calibrated, maintained, and fit for purpose.
Stay up to date with relevant renewable legislation, standards, and guidance, delivering toolbox talks (TBTs) as required.
Supervise, mentor, and develop ASHP and renewables engineers.
Support training needs, competency development, and upskilling of operatives.
Promote high standards of documentation, job reporting, and system evidence.
Manage engineer rotas, workload planning, and resource allocation in advance.
Liaise with residents, clients, and internal teams regarding works being undertaken.
Ensure appointments are kept and customers are informed of progress or changes.
Manage van stock levels and seasonal adjustments for renewables equipment and materials.
Ensure all installation records, commissioning sheets, certificates, and job sheets are completed and submitted correctly.
Complete daily quality control checks on documentation provided by operatives.
Report variations, design changes, or site constraints to the administration and contract teams.
Submit accurate timesheets, delivery notes, expenses, and supporting documentation weekly.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
OFT21-504A Installation, Commissioning and Servicing of Air Source Heat Pumps (or Equivalent)
Proven technical competence in ASHP and renewable installations.
MCS-related experience within the renewables sector.
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade (Heating, Plumbing, Renewables).
Water Regulations (WRAS)
Energy Efficiency
Unvented hot water systems qualification.
Experience working on social housing and/or retrofit contracts.
Proven experience in a supervisory or lead engineer role.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Good IT literacy, including use of mobile devices and job management systems.
Full UK driving licence and ability to pass a DBS check.
Desirable
Level 3 qualification in Heat Pump Installation or equivalent.
City & Guilds Energy Efficiency or renewables-related qualification.
Experience working within PAS 2030/PAS 2035 frameworks.
Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
