Job Description

The Assembly Test Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electronic and/or mechanical products to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. This role supports production goals by ensuring timely and accurate completion of test procedures and documentation.

Key responsibilities

Assemble components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications. Perform functional and diagnostic testing of products using manual and automated test equipment. Identify and troubleshoot faults in assemblies and escalate issues where necessary.Record test results and maintain accurate documentation in line with quality standards. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve test processes. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production and test environment.

Key skills and qualifications



NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in assembly and testing within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and automated test systems. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team. Basic computer literacy (e.g., MS Office, ERP systems). IPC certification (e.g., IPC-A-610) or similar. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge of ESD handling procedures.
