We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assessment & Engagement Worker to work with service users and multi-agency team members in an essential liaison role.
This full time, permanent position will focus on drawing in local community assets to support the delivery of recovery focussed outcomes, promoting and creating opportunities in visible recovery, harm reduction and brief interventions in the hub reception areas.
Main duties of the job

  • Provision of drug & alcohol treatment to Service Users within the locality.
  • Holding a caseload of service users and being responsible for offering a range of interventions to those individuals.
  • Supporting service users through their treatment journey from beginning to end
  • Embracing the concept of recovery and demonstrating this in your work
  • Ensuring that your work is evidence based, up to date and in accordance with current policy and legislation.
  • Keeping up to date and accurate records and documentation.
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Facilitate harm reduction interventions
  • Supporting service users who are attending the reception area of the service.
  • Support individuals in accessing services conducting screenings and assessments

  • Foundation Degree / HNC in related field which may include counselling, social work, nursing, psychology, human resources, social studies or equivalent experience
  • Willingness to undertake NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
Experience and Knowledge

  • Understanding and awareness of the effects of substance misuse on an individual and the community
  • A commitment to recovery based interventions and harm reduction approaches to working with drug users.
Desirable
  • Experience of working with drug users.
