The Assessment Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of university assessments, ensuring all processes are organised in line with regulations and deadlines. Working closely with programme administrators and academic staff, you will assist with digital assessment platforms, invigilation scheduling and the preparation of assessment materials and documentation.

BCU is seeking two Assessment Coordinators to join the Student and Academic Services team. This role involves providing frontline support to students and staff, maintaining accurate assessment records and contributing to continuous improvements in assessment administration. You will also collaborate with teams such as Quality Assurance and Timetabling to ensure assessments are delivered efficiently and consistently across the University.

Your responsibilities will include:



Support the coordination of assessment activities and deadlines. Assist with digital platforms for assessment materials. Organise invigilation arrangements and communicate with invigilators. Provide advice and support to students and academic staff. Maintain accurate assessment records and schedules. Assist with preparation of documentation for exam boards. Contribute to process improvements and reviews of assessment administration. Support University events such as enrolment, graduation, open days and clearing.

The Assessment Coordinator will have:



Experience in administration or coordination in an academic or professional setting. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities. Effective communication skills. Familiarity with university assessment regulations, or willingness to learn. Experience with digital platforms or document management systems. Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
